SPECIAL NOTE: We will be closed Sundays during August. Additionally we will be closed Sunday, August 31st and Monday September 1st. We will resume our regular Sunday hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday, September 7th.
Classes
Our July-August class list is now posted on our website with pictures, and samples can be seen in person at the store. We are very excited to offer 12 new classes this time around.

Mini Classes are here and fabulous!
We know that everyone is so busy and during these hectic times it is not easy to find a way to make a little time just for you. Well, we’re here to make that a little bit easier! We are excited to announce that we have added “Mini Classes” to our schedule. These classes are shorter, smaller projects that can be completed in less than an hour and a half, and the class fees for Mini Classes will be in the $20-$25 range. Materials will be extra, but you still receive 10% off all materials (excluding PMC and artisan beads) for Mini Classes. Skill levels for Mini Classes will range from Beginner to Experienced, so be sure to note whether the Mini Classes you’re interested in requires previous experience.
Special Note on Class Registration
It has always been our policy that payment is required at the time of registration to guarantee your spot in the class. In the past we have gone a little easy on enforcing this policy. However, classes are filling up more and more quickly, and as a result we now have to be sticklers on requiring payment at the time of registration in order to keep our bookkeeping in proper order. We appreciate everyone’s understanding on this issue!

NOTE: You may have noticed that several of our classes are marked with “Previous bead-weaving experience required.” The skill level for these classes is intermediate or above; in order to cover all the techniques defined in the scope of the class within the specified time-frame, students will need to know certain techniques before taking the class. These “prerequisites” are necessary to make the class experience fun and successful for everyone. We are happy to let you know what skills you need before signing up!

We do require payment to reserve your place in a class; many of them do fill up quickly so sign up early to ensure your spot! You can sign up for classes either at the store or over the phone. You will receive 10% off all materials the day of the class, excluding PMC and artisan beads.
August’s FREE Class
This is an exciting series at Artful Beads! For a small required kit fee, instruction for these classes is free! Kits will range in price from $12.00 - $18.00. Free classes will be held the third Thursday of every month. There will be 2 sessions each month; 10:30am – 12:00pm, and 5:30pm – 7:00pm. We do require payment to reserve your place in a class. You can sign up for classes either at the store or over the phone. You will receive 5% off all materials the day of the class excluding the required kit, PMC, and artisan beads.
We are doing a sparkling crystal ring for August’s free class. Who needs diamonds when you have crystal????. August’s Free Class sessions will be held on August 21st and the fee for August’s class is $12. And, of course, you can always stop by the store to see the samples of the project in person!
We do maintain waiting lists after the classes fill up; if you’re interested in adding your name to the list just give us a call at the store!
Free Class Registration Procedures
Class projects will be announced on the first day of the month. In addition, registration for the free class will also open on the first day of the month. In order to maintain the spirit in which the concept of the free class is intended, we are unable to add additional sessions.
It’s Time to Start Making Holiday Gifts!
Yes, it’s smack in the middle of summer and we don’t know about you, but we hate the thought of cold, wintry days. However, now is the ideal time to start making your holiday gifts! By starting gifts now, you will have tons of free time during the holidays to actually relax and enjoy the season!
Tip of the Month – Number of Beads Per Inch!
As you know, the metric system is used to measure fire-polished glass bead, while we always measure finished jewelry lengths in inches. Sometimes hat can make figuring how many beads you need for a specific piece tricky. Well, here’s a formula to make things a little easier:
1 inch – 25.4mm
Divide 25.4 by the diameter of the bead
Multiply that total by the length of the necklace
For example, let’s calculate how many 4mm beads are in a 16 inch necklace:
25.4 divided by 4 = 6.35
6.35 times 16 = 101.6
So there would be 102 4mm beads in a 16 inch necklace.
